Stag Cottage
Stag Cottage is in Colbost, on the Isle of Skye. It's a small, white croft cottage up a private driveway, looking out over Loch Dunvegan. The views are good.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a wood burner in the living room and a separate dining room. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-kept. It's been restored, so it's old but solid.
The owners live next door. They're helpful and keep to themselves. They sometimes offer lessons in traditional wool spinning if you're interested, or can tell you where to watch for deer. The wildlife is right there. You'll see sheep. You might see deer in the field.
It's rural. The nearest shop, pub, and restaurant are about three miles away in Dunvegan. The beach is about eight and a half miles. You're here for the walking and the quiet. The Walkhighlands website is the best place for route ideas.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and an enclosed garden. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
If you want to explore further, the National Trust for Scotland has information on some sites, like the Fairy Glen. Portree, the main town, is about a 25 minute drive for more shops and a petrol station.
