Stag Cottage is in Skinidin, on Skye. It's a single-storey croft cottage that's been done up, set into a hillside. The owners who did the work live next door. You're on your own land, up a private drive.
It's for two people. One bedroom with a double bed, one shower room. There's a separate living room with a wood burner and a dining room. The rating is 4 Star, so it's well looked after.
The view from the front is the main thing. You look straight out over Loch Dunvegan. It's elevated, so you get a proper panorama. The garden is enclosed, which is useful if you're bringing a dog, but we don't allow pets, sorry.
The location is rural. You'll see deer and other wildlife in the fields around the cottage quite often. The owners do stalking and traditional spinning on the estate, and they've said they're happy to show guests how it's done if you're interested.
For shops or a meal out, Dunvegan is about three miles away. There's a village shop, a couple of pubs, and a restaurant or two there. The nearest beach is about eight miles.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. The wood burner is set up for you, with fuel provided.
If you're planning trips, the National Trust for Scotland has good information, and so does the official Isle of Skye site.
