This is our place at Husabost. It's on Skye, near the village of Totaig. The house is a timber-clad bungalow built in 2019. It's up on the hill a bit, so the view from the main room looks right out over Loch Dunvegan towards the castle.
It sleeps four people. Two double bedrooms, two bathrooms. One shower room downstairs and a proper bathroom upstairs. It's got a 5 Star rating, which in practical terms means it's well-insulated, everything works, and it's very clean.
The main living space is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, and sitting area in one room. There's a wood burner for chilly evenings. The stairs up to the bedrooms are open tread, so if you've got very small children you'd need to keep an eye on them. We've left a stairgate in the cupboard under the stairs.
Outside, there's a decent sized garden and patio. It's not enclosed all the way around, so if you bring a dog you'd need to keep it on a lead. Actually, sorry, we don't take pets.
You're about a mile from a shingle beach at Husabost itself. The nearest pub and shop are about five miles away in Dunvegan village. There's a restaurant about a mile down the road. For groceries, the Co-op in Dunvegan is your best bet.
It's a good spot for walking. You can get down to the coast path easily. The Dunvegan Castle gardens are worth a visit. If you're driving, Portree is about half an hour away for more shops and places to eat. The Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr are within a 30 minute drive for famous views.
What's here: Wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, all bedding and towels. Parking for two cars right outside. There's also a shed for storing bikes or wet gear.
