The Lodge

The Lodge is nestled in the 5 valleys within the heart of Minchinhampton and Rodborough National Trust commons boasting in excess of 600 acres.
From the property you can walk for miles experiencing lovely scenery and stunning sunsets in areas of ’outstanding natural beauty’ and ’sites of special scientific interest’ along the escarpment that forms lovely plateau’s or steep sided valleys that are home to swathes of woodland where buzzards, deer, and huge varieties of insects and rare wild flowers can be spotted.
It is a great location to escape to as a family or a group looking to take in this wonderful countryside. There are lots of things to do close by including the National multi award winning Stroud Farmers Market on Saturdays or visiting nearby Winstones Ice cream factory, Woodchester Valley Vineyard or Stroud Brewery for example. Many dog welcome pubs and restaurants are within a few hundred yards such as The Bear of Rodborough Hotel, The Old Lodge Inn, stood in the middle of the common, The Black horse with its amazing views and The Amberley Inn. Nailsworth and Minchinhampton are a mile away with Williams Food Hall, Hobbs House bakery and more pubs, restaurants and shops.
The Lodge is adjoining Minchinhampton Old golf course and there are several others including the Open qualifier New course all varying in landscapes. It is only a short drive to the Princess Royal’s Gatcombe Estate annual horse trials or Tetbury’s lovely independent shops and antiques with Highgrove House and Westonbirt arboretum. Painswick ’Queen of the Cotswolds and Cirencester "Capital of the Cotswolds’ are around 8 miles away. The five valleys truly is a hiker or dog walkers paradise with the Cotswold Way, Wysis Way and Laurie Lee Wildlife Way all amongst the hundreds of foot and bridle paths to be discovered in the Golden, Nailsworth, Painswick and Slad valleys.
