The Field Snug has been renovated to a good standard in 2022, situated on the owner’s smallholding and camping site and offers a great base from which to explore the Forest of Dean. It has a lovely open plan living, dining and kitchen area; the living area also has a double sofa bed. The enclosed lawned garden with garden furniture is the perfect place for letting your four-legged friends out, dogs can also be walked in the surrounding fields provided they are on leads.
You will never be at a loss for something to see and do in the Forest of Dean. With the natural environment, fascinating history and heritage, an array of attractions and activities to be had there. For cycling enthusiasts there are plenty of trails to ride, there are an array of activities and days out to be had, such as Symonds Yat Rock, Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, and Coleford has its own Great Western Railway Museum. The River Severn, Dean Heritage Centre, Dean Forest Railway and Tintern Abbey are all nearby. There is good fishing, RSPB reserves, riding, golf, tennis, and excellent walking and cycling opportunities locally.
Areas within easy reach include Beechenhurst and Mallards Pike. Symonds Yat is a popular destination for ornithologists due to the presence of nesting peregrine falcons. The Wye Valley also offers a variety of river-based activities such as canoeing and fishing. A wide variety of shops, restaurants and pubs are available in Coleford which is just 1-mile from The Field Snug. The town of Monmouth is a short drive from the property and has some great boutique shops and not to mention Monmouth castle and the Monnow Bridge.
