The town also hosts the increasingly popular annual Abergavenny Food Festival in September. Brecon, 14 miles away, has many places of interest such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to the annual Brecon Jazz festival in August.
For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen-Y-Fan, South Wales’ highest peak, offers incredible views. Sugar Loaf Mountain is also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range.
