Sunset Lodge
Sunset Lodge is a modern spacious home, wonderful for those wishing to enjoy a tranquil stay in the Cotswolds. The house sits on the very edge of mill house stream which is a haven for wildlife. The property offers extensive outside decking and seating by the water’s edge along with extended cantilevered decking over the water all protected with glass balustrade.
The house provides a comfortable relaxing setting for families of up to nine people including children. The 2, 000 square feet of accommodation is spread over three floors and comprises a large master bedroom with a super kingsize bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower, two twin bedrooms sharing a bathroom with shower and bath, situated on the 2nd floor. On the 3rd floor there is one further large bedroom with a super kingsize bed and a third bathroom en-suite with a bath/shower. There are two balconies on the 2nd floor with views over the stream. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are fitted with wooden blinds or blackout curtains to enable a good night’s sleep. The main living space is on the ground floor and consists of an open plan living room and kitchen, including a contemporary extending glass dining table that sits up to 8 people. This open plan area also comprises an inset gas fireplace with 65” picture frame HDTV above the fire, along with two large sofas and two rocking chairs. In addition there is a second room with a further sofa and tv, great as a nook for kids or as a quiet space for adults. The property has a number of balconies throughout, two on the first floor which you can access through the master bedroom/ hall. A full balcony at the rear of the detached property looking over the Water Garden and Mill house stream which feeds the River Thames.
This attractive property is set on the quieter side of the award-winning Lower Mill Estate, a 450-acre nature reserve boasting a large variety of wildlife and a site of special scientific interest. Built in Cotswold style. The decking provides a wonderful location for alfresco meals from breakfast to dinner. The River Thames flows very close from the property and the Thames Path leads to the source of the Thames near the village of Kemble. The village of Somerford Keynes is a short walk away where the local pub offers freshly prepared home cooked food and local cask ales. The surrounding area offers a network of lakeside paths and bridleways to explore hidden countryside on foot or by bike. Many fine traditional pubs, cafés and hotels are found in local Cotswold villages offering delicious homemade food and speciality beverages.
The historic town of Cirencester is a short drive away and beautiful towns and villages such as Bath, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway and Cheltenham are all within easy access. The Cotswold Water Park offers a host of activities including water skiing, cable skiing, archery, shooting, paintballing, golf, aerial adventure, angling, horse riding, sailing, canoeing and rally driving. Cycle tracks, nature trails and fishing are all available locally. Shop and restaurant on-site . Pub serving food 1 mile away.
