As the name suggests, this is what you see at night, situated in a quiet rural location, surrounded by countryside and sea views, the lighthouse in the distance it is a magical place. Set in Trewllard Cliff, in the village of St Just in the Southwest of Cornwall, 8 miles from Lands’ End.
This one-bedroom property has been finished to a high standard to provide a comfortable home for home and is a wonderful retreat for couples and their four-legged friends. Miles of coastal walks are on the doorstep and the bus stop is at the end of the road, so you do not even need to take your car. The village is within walking distance, as is a dog friendly pub offering amazing food, there is a tapas bar open Thursday and Friday during the summer, well worth booking. The local supermarket opens late, great if you want any last-minute supplies.
Home to Poldark Mine and where Rosamind Pilcher based her books, the area is steeped in history. Trewellard Cliff is ½ mile away from Levant mine, and a lovely stroll along a quiet road allows you to view the stunning scenery and admire the impressive remains. To visit the mine and restored 1840s Beam Engine, the last engine running on steam, you need to book a guided tour although it is free to walk around the area. You can also walk to Geever Tin Mine along the costal path and visit the museum. Whilst you are here why not explore the National Trust Cape Cornwall coast paths? Look out for seals and dolphins, or spend a day in the harbour village of St Ives, walking along the cobbled streets, looking at the shops and galleries.
Penzance town is another working harbour, great for picking up local fish and shellfish for your supper. Steeped in history with beautiful gardens, Dylan Thomas was married here. You don’t really need to go far, just sit back and enjoy the wonderful view and the peaceful surroundings, watch the fantastic skies at night, or curl up with a good book. The owner is happy to dog sit for guests, and dogs are welcome at £25 per booking.
