Hendy cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed Cotswold stone cottage located moments from Rodborough Common, Stroud in the heart of the South Cotswolds. With views across the Cotswold Way and the Golden Valley, Hendy welcomes families or groups of six for a relaxing getaway. This cottage has bags of character and charm, and is truly a very special place to stay and makes a fantastic base to explore the Cotswold Way.
The British designer Jasper Conran once likened Stroud to ‘the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds’, and made even more famous by Laurie Lee’s novel Cider with Rosie. Stroud is a great base to explore the undiscovered south Cotswolds countryside and the Five Golden Valleys. There are beautiful walks with stunning views, overlooking the Cotswold way. With Fantastic restaurants, bars and amenities on your doorstep. There truly is something for everything. Stroud is full of quirky independents and pop ups as well as Michelin star restaurants and award winning pubs!
Perfect for a family holiday, the property is in easy reach of Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham and Gloucester for day trips and beautiful Cotswold villages of Painswick and Minchinhampton as minutes away. We are also close to the Cotswold water park which is fantastic for sailing, fishing and swimming. There is an off road parking space outside the property. There is also a local bike hire should you wish to explore by bike! And cabs are really easy to get in stroud, there is even Uber if you wish to book in a hurry! Stroud Train Station is located 2. 5 miles away by car and the nearest airport is Bristol.
