This is the Old Butchers Cottage. It’s a one-bedroom place in Nunney, sleeps two. We live next door. It used to be the village butcher’s shop a couple of hundred years ago, so it’s a long, narrow building.
The front door opens straight into the living room. There’s a wood burner in there. The kitchen is at the back. Upstairs is the bedroom and a shower room.
Opposite the cottage, across a little lane, there’s a small courtyard garden with a table, chairs, and a firepit. It looks over the Nunneybrook river. You can hear it when it’s been raining.
The village has a ruined castle in the middle, with a moat. You can walk right up to it. There’s a café and a pub, both a two-minute walk away.
Frome is about three miles away. It’s got a lot of independent shops and a famous monthly market. Bath is half an hour’s drive, maybe a bit more if the traffic’s bad. The National Trust has a few places there. Longleat is about twenty minutes away.
Inside, it’s got everything: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. The bed’s made up when you arrive. There’s a cot if you need one. No pets, though.
