Wookey
This is Wookey. It's a two bedroom cottage for four people on a farm in Witham Friary.
The place has been fully refurbished. It's a 5 Star rating so everything is new and it's very clean. It's open plan downstairs. There's one bathroom with a shower.
You're on a 40 acre site with a few other cottages. There are fields, some woodland, and two lakes. The wildlife is good here. You'll see deer and hares around. There are buzzards and owls. The fish in the lower lake are tame, you can feed them by hand. No fishing.
The facilities on site are the main draw. There's a good indoor swimming pool, a games room, and a tennis court. There's also a kids' play area. We have an electric vehicle charger. You can use the BBQ.
The village pub is about a ten minute walk. It's a proper village pub. The shop is in Bruton, about six miles away.
For days out, you're in a good spot. Longleat is very close. Stourhead is just a few minutes down the road. Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, and Stonehenge are all within about 30 to 40 minutes drive. The Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip Hills are nearby if you want to walk.
Practical stuff: Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. The parking is right outside.
