Cheddar
Cheddar is in Witham Friary. It's one of a few cottages on the same farm. They're built from local stone and have been refurbished.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and very clean. The gardens and views are the main thing here. You're on a 40-acre site with farmland, woods, and two lakes. You'll see deer and hares, and lots of birds like buzzards and owls. The carp in the lower lake are tame enough to feed by hand.
The village is a few minutes' walk. There's a pub and a children's playground. The pub was in a TV show.
For a day out, you're in a good spot. Longleat is close. So is Stourhead, which is a National Trust place with famous gardens. Bath is about a 45-minute drive. Wells, Glastonbury, and Cheddar Gorge are within half an hour. Stonehenge is maybe 50 minutes away.
On site, there's an indoor swimming pool, a games room, and a tennis court. There's also a kids' play area. The facilities list covers most things: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, cot and highchair if needed, bedding and towels included. There's parking and an electric vehicle charger. No pets.
