Stourhead
This place is called Stourhead, in Witham Friary. It's a group of cottages you can book together, so it sleeps ten. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's very well done up and comfortable.
The cottages have been fully refurbished. They're open plan, well-equipped. You've got things like a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi. There's a games room, a swimming pool on site, and a kids' play area. The gardens are large and there's parking. You can bring up to two dogs.
It's very rural. You look out over fields and woodland. There's a lot of wildlife around, deer and hares often come close. There are two lakes on the grounds. The lower one has carp in it, but you can't fish, you can just feed them.
The village is a short walk away. There's a pub there and a children's playground. The pub is proper old-fashioned, unspoiled.
Location wise, it's good for getting to a lot of places. Stourhead is just a few minutes' drive. Longleat is close by. Bath, Wells, Glastonbury are all within about 40 minutes. Salisbury and Stonehenge are about an hour. For walks, the Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge are within half an hour.
