Mendip
This is Mendip, it's one of the cottages at Moorleaze near Witham Friary. It's a proper refurbished stone cottage, not old and draughty. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's all been done to a high standard, everything's new and it's very well equipped.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. The main living space is open plan.
The setting is the main thing. You're in the middle of about 40 acres of farmland, woods and lakes. You'll see deer and hares from the window most days. There are buzzards and owls. You can feed the carp in the lower lake, they come right up. It's very quiet.
Witham Friary village is a five minute walk. There's a pub there and a kids' playground. The pub is unspoiled, it's just a normal village pub.
For things to do, you're in a good spot. Longleat is about 15 minutes by car. Stourhead, the National Trust place, is even closer, maybe 10 minutes. National Trust Stourhead. Bath, Wells, Glastonbury and Stonehenge are all within about 40 minutes drive. Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are about half an hour.
On site, there's a shared indoor heated swimming pool and a games room. There's a tennis court, a climbing frame for kids, and a play area. You've got your own garden with a patio and a BBQ. Parking is right outside. There's an electric vehicle charger.
Inside, it's got everything: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. No pets, sorry.
