This is Stonehenge Cottage. It's in Witham Friary, Somerset. The name is a bit of a joke because the real Stonehenge is about an hour away. It's a five-star cottage. That means it's been done up to a high standard, everything should work, and it's clean.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms which helps. It's open plan downstairs.
The cottage is on a 40-acre site. There are other cottages here, but you have your own garden and patio with a BBQ. The views are just fields and trees. You'll see deer and hares. There are two lakes. One has carp in it that you can feed, but you can't fish.
There's a games room, a tennis court, and an outdoor play area for kids. There's also an indoor swimming pool on site. You need to book a slot for it.
In the village, a few minutes walk away, there's a pub and a kids' playground. The pub is proper old-fashioned.
For things to do, Longleat is very close. So is Stourhead, which is a National Trust place. Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, and the Mendip Hills are all within about half an hour's drive. Cheddar Gorge is up there too. Stonehenge and Salisbury are a bit further, maybe 45 minutes to an hour.
The facilities are all listed. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, all that. Bedding and towels are included. There's an electric vehicle charger. We take up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
