2 Luckington Stables

2 Luckington Stables is in a place called Luckington, outside Newbury. It’s in Somerset, on the edge of the Cotswolds. It’s a bungalow, all on one level, converted from old stables in the grounds. We did it up properly a few years ago.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. Everything is included, like bedding, towels, and WiFi. It’s wheelchair accessible, with grab rails and a walk-in shower.

It’s warm and dry, which is the main thing. You’ve got a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a TV. The garden is yours to use. There’s parking right there.

You can bring up to three dogs. We allow that because it’s good walking country right from the door.

The local shop and a pub that does food are about a mile and a half away in Kilmersdon. That’s the Jack and Jill village from the rhyme.

You’re well placed for a lot of things here. Bath is about half an hour’s drive. That’s the main draw for most people. Wells, Glastonbury Tor, and Bradford-on-Avon with its canal are all within 30 minutes too. Longleat Safari Park is a similar distance. For a day out, Cheddar Gorge or Stourhead are good options.

If you fancy the coast, Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea are the closest, but Lyme Regis is a bit further.
