The Piggery is an annexe next to our house, which was a chapel once. It's a studio, so it's one open room for sleeping, cooking and sitting. It's just for two people, and one dog if you have one.
It was built in 1844, originally for pigs. We've done it up. It's got a 4 Star rating. The ceiling is high and vaulted, which makes it feel bigger than it is. There are Velux windows in the roof you can open. The bed is in the same space, looking out over the garden.
Outside is a private, gravelled courtyard with a bistro table and chairs. There's parking right there, and an electric vehicle charger you can use.
The kitchen bit has an induction hob, a small Sage oven, a microwave, and an air fryer. There's a fridge with a freezer compartment. The shower room is off to the side. The sofa faces a Smart TV. You can log into Netflix and things like that. There's WiFi.
Carlingcott is a small village. You're in the countryside straight away. There are miles of walks from the door, along the Cam Valley. The local pub is about a ten minute walk.
You're about fifteen minutes' drive from the centre of Bath. It's easy to pop in for the day. For shopping, Peasedown St John is five minutes away and has a Co-op and a couple of pubs that do food.
If you want to go further, Wells and its cathedral are about half an hour. Glastonbury Tor is a bit further, maybe forty minutes. The National Trust has several properties nearby, like Dyrham Park. The English Heritage site at Farleigh Hungerford Castle is close too.
Practical things: The whole place is on the ground floor and the entrance has no step, so it's accessible. We can provide a cot and a highchair. All bedding and towels are included. It's a no-smoking property.
