Little Orchard is a new-build cottage near High Littleton, a village between Bath and Bristol. It's detached, so no shared walls with anyone.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's very tidy and well-equipped. It doesn't feel old, it's all modern inside.
The garden is at the back and it looks onto our actual orchard, which is where the name comes from. There's a patio with a table and chairs and a barbecue.
The kitchen has all the usual things: a dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing. We've also put in an electric car charger on the driveway.
There's a shop and a pub about a five-minute walk away. The pub does food. Wells Cathedral is about a 20-minute drive. Glastonbury Tor is about half an hour away.
For a good family day out, Longleat is a 40-minute drive.
If you like walking, there are footpaths from the village into the fields. Greyfield Wood is nearby and worth a look if you fancy a woodland walk. For general planning, the National Trust Somerset and Mendip Hills National Landscape sites have good information.
Facilities wise: parking for two cars on the drive, WiFi, TV, a cot and highchair if you need them. All bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
