The Bothy

The Bothy is on our farm, just outside Blairgowrie. It's detached. We live in the main farmhouse about fifty yards away. You'll have your own garden and parking.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's got everything you need and it's kept in good order. It's not huge, but it feels spacious enough. The front door and main rooms are all on one level, which is handy. The shower room is downstairs too.

The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Everything you need for cooking is there. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair in the cupboard if you need them.

The view from the living room looks west over the Vale of Strathmore. It's a good spot for a sunset. There's a local pub about a mile and a half walk down the lane. Blairgowrie is a ten minute drive for bigger shops.

If you like walking, the Cateran Trail is right on the doorstep. You can join it from the farm track. For cycling, the quiet farm roads are good. There are loads of golf courses. Blairgowrie has one, and the big ones like Gleneagles or St Andrews are within an hour's drive.

In winter, Glenshee Ski Centre is about 40 minutes away for skiing. For a day trip, Dundee is under 40 minutes. You've got the V&A museum there. Perth is about half an hour. Edinburgh is just over an hour if you fancy it.

The east coast beaches, like at St Andrews, are about an hour's drive. Here are a couple of useful sites: Perthshire for local info and Walkhighlands for detailed walking routes.

We don't allow pets, sorry. The place is available over Christmas, we put a tree up.
