Woodside

This is Woodside. It’s near Kinloch in Perthshire. It’s attached to our house, but you have your own entrance and space. It’s private.

It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and a bathroom on each floor. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and well equipped.

The setting is the main thing. It’s surrounded by woods. You’ll often see deer and red squirrels from the windows. You’re welcome to walk in the woods. There’s an old ruined castle in the grounds too, which is interesting.

There’s a private hot tub in the garden.

If you’re coming in winter, the lane up to the house is a climb. It’s steep. A four-wheel drive is better for it in snow or ice. Other cars might struggle.

Blairgowrie is about four miles away. It’s a market town with shops, places to eat, and things like that.

The Cateran Trail long-distance path starts at the end of the drive. There are plenty of other walks and cycle routes nearby. The Angus Glens are a short drive for more serious walks.

You’re close to places like Glamis Castle and Scone Palace.

Golf courses are everywhere. St Andrews, Carnoustie, and Gleneagles are all within an hour’s drive. Glenshee ski centre is about 40 minutes away.

For a day out, Dundee, Perth, and Edinburgh are all within reach. Edinburgh is just over an hour by car.

Facilities: It’s all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, wood burning stove. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's a highchair if needed. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but inside there are stairs.
