Clayhills Cottage is up on a farm near Blairgowrie. It's a working farm, arable mostly and Christmas trees. You get to it by a rough farm track. I mention that because if your car is very low, you'd feel it. Once you're up there, the view is the main thing. It looks out over the Vale of Strathmore towards the Sidlaw Hills. You're just surrounded by fields.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom which is a wet room on the ground floor. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. There's an open fire in the living room, which is nice. You get a patio and garden to yourselves.
The farm is active, so you'll see tractors sometimes. It's quiet though. You're about a mile from the nearest shop and pub. Blairgowrie town is a short drive away.
If you walk, the Cateran Trail is close by. For golfers, there's the course in Blairgowrie itself. Further out you've got Gleneagles, St Andrews, Carnoustie, all within an hour or so. In winter, Glenshee ski slopes are about half an hour's drive. The Angus Glens are good for more serious walking, and the east coast beaches are about 40 minutes away.
Dundee and Perth are both under 40 minutes by car. Edinburgh is about an hour and a half if you fancied a day trip.
The place has the basics: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring two dogs.
