Kingfisher Barn

Kingfisher Barn is one of four holiday barns here, three joined together and one separate. Ours is one of the joined ones. It's on a farm, next to the owner's house.

It sleeps ten people in five bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is good for a big group. They've all got en-suites, most are walk-in showers. There's a wood burner in the main living area. The kitchen is open plan and well set up.

You get your own walled garden with a patio. It's enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids. There's parking right outside.

The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, with exposed beams and that sort of thing. It feels solid, not fragile.

The village is Sculthorpe. It's quiet. There's a local pub about half a mile away that does food. A shop is about a mile. Fakenham is two miles for supermarkets and other things.

The coast is about fifteen minutes' drive. Wells-next-the-Sea is popular, with a great beach and huts. Holkham beach is massive and beautiful. Brancaster is good for a less crowded sandy beach. If you like birds, the North Norfolk coast is full of RSPB reserves like Titchwell Marsh.

For a day out, the National Trust has a lot of places nearby like Blickling Hall or Felbrigg Hall. Norwich is about 45 minutes if you want a city, or King's Lynn is about 20 minutes for shopping and history.

On site, there's a function hall you can sometimes book for events if you ask the owner first. They've also got a games room and a small gym. You can store bicycles. We allow up to two dogs.
