The Old Saddlery
The Old Saddlery is in Colkirk, which is a small village in mid-Norfolk. It’s on the edge of a farmyard, looking out over a big field. You might see the barn owl flying past in the evening.
The place sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms has a freestanding bath. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s an old building, so the ceilings are low in places and some of the doorways are too. The stairs up to the third bedroom are quite steep.
There’s a pub you can walk to in about ten minutes. The nearest shop is in Fakenham, which is a ten minute drive. For a bigger shop, there’s a Tesco and an Aldi there too.
The coast is about twenty minutes away by car. Wells-next-the-Sea is the usual spot. Good beach, nice harbour. Holkham is just next to it if you want a longer walk. Further along, you’ve got Blakeney for crabbing or a boat trip to see the seals. Cromer’s in the other direction.
Norwich is about forty minutes away if you want a city day. Sandringham is closer, maybe twenty-five minutes. For history, Blickling Estate is well worth a visit.
Inside, it’s got a wood burner in the living room. There’s a dishwasher and a washing machine. The garden is enclosed, so it’s fine for dogs. You can bring up to two. We provide bedding and towels. There’s parking right outside.
