The Old Saddlery is a cottage on our farm in Colkirk. It's quiet, with a view over a meadow. We often see a barn owl flying past. The building is old, from the mid-1700s. It used to be a cart shed, then a saddlery. Now it's a house.
It sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom has a freestanding bath. The third bedroom is up in the eaves, so the ceiling slopes a bit. We kept the old beams where we could.
There's a wood burner in the living area. The garden is enclosed and private. It's good for dogs, we allow up to two. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The local pub is half a mile down the lane. It's a proper village pub. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away in Fakenham.
Wells-next-the-Sea is about a twenty minute drive. It's got a great beach with those coloured beach huts. You can get to Holkham and Blakeney easily from there. All the north Norfolk coast is within about half an hour. Cromer's about forty minutes in the other direction.
If you want to see some history, Sandringham House is close by. Norwich city centre is about half an hour's drive. It's got the castle and the cathedral.
