The Herdwick Hideaway

The Herdwick Hideaway is a shepherd's hut on our land near Godwick Hall, between Fakenham and East Dereham. It's one of three.

It sleeps two, in a proper double bed. It has a shower and a toilet, a wood burner, and a little fridge and microwave. The stairs to the bed aren't really stairs, they're more like a sturdy ladder. You'll be fine.

The hut is private, facing its own bit of garden with a firepit. It's quiet. You hear sheep and birds. You can see other huts, but it's spaced out.

You can get breakfast delivered in the morning if you order it when you book. Stuff like pastries or bacon rolls. You can also pay for extras like a BBQ pack or a bottle of prosecco to be in the fridge when you arrive.

One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's a field nearby you can walk them in.

For days out, the north coast is about a 20-25 minute drive. Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham beaches are good. Norwich is roughly 40 minutes the other way. King's Lynn is about half an hour.

The facilities list covers most of it: wood burner, parking, WiFi, bedding and towels are provided. It is glamping, so it's compact, but it's warm and has everything you need.
