The Owl Pod is at Glampio Cae Pella, near Llangadfan. It's a glamping pod in a field. You get the whole thing to yourselves, it's detached.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means everything works and it's clean, but it's simple. The bed is in a sort of mezzanine loft space. The ladder up to it is fixed in place, so you need to be okay with that.
Your bit of the field has a picnic table, a BBQ, and a shelter for cooking outside. There's a proper private shower room in a little hut right next to the pod. The main thing is the wood-fired hot tub. You'll need to light that yourself, but the wood is provided. It looks out over the fields.
It's very dark here at night. If it's clear, you'll see a lot of stars. You won't get any light pollution.
The village of Llangadfan is about a mile and a half away. It's got a shop, a post office, a petrol station and a couple of pubs. They do food.
For a good walk, Lake Vyrnwy is about a twenty minute drive. It's a reservoir with a dam, and there's a forest and a circular road you can walk around. You might see red kites. The Glyndwr's Way path goes through here too.
If you want a day out, Welshpool is roughly half an hour away. That's where Powis Castle is. Shrewsbury is about forty minutes. The coast at Barmouth or Aberdyfi is just over an hour's drive.
Facilities: There's a TV, bedding is included, and there's parking right by the pod. No pets. You share the big field with one other glamping pod, but the plots are spaced well apart.
