Hirros Hall Longhouse
Hirros Hall Longhouse is in Four Crosses, North Powys. It's a proper old longhouse, some of it from the 16th century. It's attached to the main farmhouse here, but you have your own place.
It's up on a hill looking over the Banwy Valley. The views are good. It gets quiet up here.
The house sleeps five in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps if you've got a full group. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. Expect beams, thick walls, that kind of thing.
If you like walking or mountain biking, you're set. The Dyfnant Forest starts about 15 minutes' drive away. There are fishing lakes ten minutes' walk from the door. The owners keep horses, so if you want to bring your own, there's stabling and paddocks. You'd need to arrange that with them first.
For things to do, Powis Castle is nearby, which is run by the National Trust. Welshpool is close, and the steam railway at Llanfair Caereinion is about a 20 minute drive. The coast, like Aberdyfi, is under an hour if you fancy a change.
There's a shop and a pub two miles away in the village. They're fine for basics and a meal.
Inside, it's got a woodburning stove for cooler nights, a dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi. There's a patio and garden with a BBQ. The parking is on site. You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included, and we can provide a cot and highchair.
