This place is Y Dderwen at Brynglas Farm. It's near Melin-y-dôl in Powys. The barn conversion is semi-detached and it's on a working farm, next to our house. The main thing is the view from the back, looking down the Banwy Valley. It's just fields and hills.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. It's an open plan layout downstairs. There's a patio garden with a BBQ. You get a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. There's parking right outside.
We're on a farm, so you'll see sheep and maybe hear tractors. You can bring one dog. There's free fishing in the farm lake.
The nearest shop and pub is about three miles away in Llanfair Caereinion. That's also where you get the steam railway. For a bigger shop, Welshpool is about nine miles.
You're fairly central here. Powis Castle is a must, about 20 minutes' drive. The Montgomery Canal is good for a flat walk. Lake Vyrnwy is stunning for a drive or a walk, that's about half an hour. If you go west for 45 minutes you can get to the coast around Aberdyfi. For something different, there's King Arthur's Labyrinth at Corris or the Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth, both within 30-40 minutes.
