Bodeinion
Bodeinion is in Llanfair Caereinion. It's a town, but a small one. You're right by the River Banwy, so you can hear the water.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, so that helps. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've updated it but kept the old bits we liked. The fire in the lounge works if you want it.
The kitchen has what you need, including a coffee machine. The dining table fits six. There are two staircases, which is a bit unusual. One from the lounge, one from near the kitchen. They're both normal cottage stairs.
Out the back there's a small patio area. Just over the road by the river there are benches and spots for a picnic, which is handier.
In the town there's a shop, a butcher, a bakery, a cafe and three pubs. They're all perfectly good. The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway starts here too, which is nice if you like that sort of thing.
For a day out, Powis Castle near Welshpool is about 20 minutes by car. The gardens are very good. Lake Vyrnwy is about 40 minutes drive, good for walking. The coast, like Portmeirion, is over an hour away.
Facilities: there's parking, wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. Two well-behaved dogs are allowed. We've got a highchair and stairgate if you need them.
