Llwyn Coppa Barn
Llwyn Coppa Barn is in Adfa, which is a small village near Newtown in Powys. It's a converted barn from the 18th century, set on its own up a private drive. The views from the front are over fields and towards the Kerry Ridgeway. It's very quiet.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The owner did a lot of the restoration work himself, so there are original beams, Welsh oak floors, and proper latched doors. It feels solid.
The place is on one level and the entrance is wheelchair accessible. Inside, it's all on the same floor too. There's a washing machine, TV, and wifi included. Bedding and towels are provided. You can bring up to two dogs.
It’s good walking country right from the door. You can pick up old tracks and paths into the hills without having to drive. For a longer day out, the National Trust has places like Powis Castle about 40 minutes away. The Visit Wales Mid Wales site has ideas too.
Newtown is about a 15 minute drive for supermarkets and shops. Further afield, Welshpool and the Shropshire Hills are within half an hour. It’s that kind of border country.
