Pansi
Pansi is a lodge near Llangadfan in Powys. It's part of a small group called The Secret Garden Hideaway. You go through a big wooden gate to get to it. The lodge itself is detached, so it's just for you.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well presented. The heating is from an eco-friendly biomass boiler, which works fine but you might want to pack a jumper for the evenings.
The lodge is open plan downstairs, with the kitchen, living and dining area all together. The kitchen has what you need. Outside, there's your own private patio with seating, and a bigger communal garden area if you feel like being sociable.
The owners run a hotel a short walk up the path. They serve food and drinks, so that's an option if you don't want to cook.
For walks, Dyfnant Forest is right on the doorstep. A bit further on, you can reach Lake Vyrnwy in about half an hour. It's a reservoir with decent walking and cycling paths all around it. Welshpool is also about 30 minutes by car. That's where you'll find Powis Castle and Gardens.
