This is Fioled. It's one of five lodges in a small group called The Secret Garden Hideaway, near Llangadfan in Powys. You have your own building, it’s detached.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own ensuite wet rooms. They’re modern and clean, and towels and bedding are included. It’s a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable. The main living area is open plan, with a kitchen at one end. There's a TV and wifi.
The lodge itself is at the far end of a big, shared garden. There are tall hedges and a wooden gate at the entrance. You have your own private patio bit with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. The garden is communal for all the lodges, but it’s a big space so it never feels crowded. The whole place was built to be eco-friendly, so the heating comes from a biomass boiler.
The owners run a hotel up the lane, about a five-minute walk. They serve food and drinks there if you don't want to cook.
The area is good for walking. Dyfnant Forest is right there for proper woodland trails. For a drive out, Lake Vyrnwy is about half an hour away. It's run by the RSPB now, so it’s great if you like birdwatching. You can also walk or cycle around the lake. Welshpool is the main town, it's about half an hour's drive. The main thing there is Powis Castle, which has amazing gardens. There's a small pet allowed. Parking is on site.
