This is Luxury Pod 2. It's in Abertridwr. It's on the edge of our caravan camping site, but the pod itself is on its own. It's adults only, just so you know.
The pod sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's all open plan. It's a new build from 2021, so everything works properly. It's got the 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished. It's warm and dry. The shower is good.
Outside, you've got your own patio with a BBQ. There's parking right next to it. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance.
The real point of it is the location. You're about a mile and a half from Lake Vyrnwy. It's an RSPB site, so the birdlife is the main thing. You'll see buzzards and ravens overhead. If you walk round the lake, there are dippers and pied flycatchers in the woods. It's very quiet.
There's a shop about a mile away for basics. The nearest pub and restaurant is at the lake itself, so that's the same mile and a half.
If you want to drive out, you're in proper hill country. Bala Lake is about half an hour north. The Snowdonia National Park boundary is maybe 40 minutes west. Shrewsbury is just over an hour east if you need a town.
For planning, the RSPB page for Lake Vyrnwy has maps and details on the trails. The Visit Wales site is good for the wider area.
Facilities are all there: bedding and towels, TV, wifi, parking. No pets. It's a glamping pod, so it's a proper bed and proper walls, but it's still a single space. It's comfortable.
