Creyr Glas Pod is a self-contained lodge near Hirnant in Powys. It's on a quiet lane overlooking farmland.
The pod is bigger than you might think, all on one level. There's a main living space with a wood burner, with the bedroom off it. The bed is a kingsize. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. Everything is included for the wood fire. Outside, there's your own seating area and a wood-fired hot tub. It's ready for you when you arrive, so you don't have to fuss with it.
There's a separate field you're welcome to use. One well-behaved dog is allowed, but you have to keep an eye on it as there are sometimes sheep in the next field.
It feels remote, but there's a village shop and a pub about a mile and a half away in Penybontfawr. For other supplies, Oswestry, Welshpool or Shrewsbury are all within about a 30 minute drive.
You're in a good spot for getting out. Lake Vyrnwy is very close for walking or cycling. Lake Bala is about 15 minutes away if you want to go sailing. The Snowdonia National Park Snowdonia National Park starts right at the top of the Berwyn mountains behind you. You can be in Blaenau Ffestiniog for places like Zip World in under an hour. The west coast is about an hour's drive too.
Facilities are straightforward. There's parking right there, an electric vehicle charger, WiFi, TV, and bedding and towels are included. The whole place has underfloor heating as well as the wood burner. It's fully insulated.
