The main part of Snowdonia, like Betws-y-Coed, is about half an hour's drive. There's a golf course four miles from the cottage.
For walks, you've got Gwydir Forest nearby and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is close. National Trust Wales has several local properties, like Bodnant Garden. Visit Wales North Wales is useful for general planning. The Snowdonia National Park site is good for walking routes.
