Grouse Lodge
Grouse Lodge is a log cabin on our farm. It's a proper wood one, not just siding. It's detached and you've got your own enclosed garden. You can see the horses from there.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both on the ground floor, and one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's warm and dry. The layout is open plan, so the kitchen, living area and dining space are all in one room.
You can bring one dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. All bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
The farm is a working one, so you'll hear and see us going about our business with the animals. You can bring your own horse if you want, there's stabling and a ménage. There's a pub that does food about a mile away, and a shop the same distance.
The coast is about five miles. The beach at Pensarn is sandy and good for a run. Abergele is a few miles further, it's got the usual shops.
For walking, you're on the edge of the Clwydian Range. It's about a 20 minute drive to get up into the hills properly. Chirk Castle is about half an hour away. Llandudno and Conwy are both within a 30 minute drive if you want castles or the pier.
If you're planning trips, the Visit Wales site for Snowdonia has good information, though you're not right in the National Park. For the local area, Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB is useful.
The hot tub is yours to use. Please follow the instructions in the book. There's a woodburning stove and we provide some logs to get you started.
