Caretaker's Cottage is in Melsonby. It's the old church caretaker's place, from about the 1850s. It's a semi-detached cottage.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One has a king size bed, the other a single. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and recently decorated. The stairs are a bit steep, like a lot of older cottages.
There's a small backyard with a table and chairs. You can get to it from the kitchen through a stable door.
The village has one pub. It's a couple of minutes walk away. They do food and have quiz nights sometimes.
You're about 15 minutes by car from Richmond. Good for shopping and the castle. Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum are the other way, also about 15 minutes. Darlington is the same.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park is on your doorstep. For walking, you can head straight out from here or drive a short way to places like Reeth. The North York Moors are within reach too, maybe a 40 minute drive.
Further out, you can get to Durham or York in about half an hour. Newcastle, Leeds, or Penrith are about an hour.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. A travel cot and highchair are here if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
