Frenchgate Cottage is in Richmond. It's a bungalow. It's about a five-minute walk from the market square. The big thing here is the view. It looks out over the whole town. You can see the castle from the garden.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. One bedroom has a super king bed and a bay window seat. The other has two singles. The bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower cubicle.
The garden is tiered, so it's on a bit of a slope. It's enclosed. It has a wood-fired hot tub. You need to get the fire going yourself, it's not a push-button one. It takes a couple of hours to heat up.
Inside, it's all on one level, which is handy. There's a living area with patio doors to the garden. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
You're in walking distance of everything in Richmond. The market square, the castle, the River Swale, and the falls. The Georgian Theatre Royal is just down the hill. For a good walk, you can follow the river path to Easby Abbey.
If you drive, you're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Reeth is about 20 minutes away. Aysgarth Falls is about half an hour's drive. The English Heritage page for Richmond Castle is useful for planning a visit.
There's on-site parking for one car.
