Bridge Cottage

Bridge Cottage is our place in Sevington, Kent. It's a detached 16th century cottage. It's on the quiet side of the village, next to a small bridge over the stream. That's where the name comes from.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's been done up well inside, but it's still an old building. The doorways are low in some places. The floorboards creak. That's just how it is.

There's a proper wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is big enough for a few people to be in there without getting in each other's way. The garden is enclosed, with a patio and a hot tub. Parking for two cars on the drive.

It's a rural spot. You can walk out the door and onto footpaths straight away. The village church is nice for a look around. For shops and things, you need to drive into Ashford, which is about ten minutes. The Ashford Designer Outlet is there if you need it. The high-speed train from Ashford International gets you to London in 38 minutes.

Within half an hour's drive you've got a few options. The Kent Downs are close for walking. The Channel Tunnel exhibition at Folkestone is about 20 minutes. Hythe and its military canal are the same way. Whitstable for the coast and oysters is just under half an hour.

Facilities list: Washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair, bedding and towels included, satellite TV, WiFi. There's a BBQ. No pets, I'm afraid.
