Venton Cottage

Venton Cottage is in Castlemartin in Pembrokeshire. It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well looked after, more than basic but not over the top. It sleeps six.

There are three bedrooms upstairs. The main one has a king size bed and its own shower. The others are a double and a single room with an extra pull out bed. Downstairs there's a family bathroom with a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

The kitchen is open plan with a dining table. It has an induction hob and a Smeg fridge freezer. There's also a separate utility room with the washing machine. The lounge has a wood burning stove and a TV. One of the best bits is the glass conservatory on the back. It looks out over the enclosed garden, which is all yours. Good for sitting with a cup of tea.

You can bring up to two dogs.

The village is quiet. You're right in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The coast is the main thing here. Freshwater West beach is about ten minutes by car. It's a big surfing beach. Broad Haven South is similar, good for families. Barafundle Bay is stunning but it's a walk from the car park.

The cliffs around here are dramatic. The Castlemartin Range is a military training area, but when it's open to the public you can walk there. You get views of Stack Rocks and the Green Bridge of Wales, which is a natural stone arch. St Govan's Chapel is built into the cliff face nearby. It's a special spot.

Pembroke Castle, which is the birthplace of Henry VII, is about a twenty minute drive. Tenby with its beaches and harbour is about half an hour. For a day out with kids, Folly Farm is also within half an hour.

Facilities: parking for two cars on the gravel drive. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi. There's a barbecue in the garden.
