Foresters is a bothy in Logie Coldstone. It's off-grid, which means it runs on solar power and collects its own rainwater. You'll get a proper sense of being away from everything.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main thing is the wood-burning stove. That's your heat and it does make the place very cosy in the evening. There's an indoor shower and toilet, so it's not like the old-fashioned bothies.
The bothy is detached, so you're on your own. There's a small patio area with a BBQ. It's pet friendly, so you can bring the dog. Bedding and towels are included.
You're right in the Cairngorms National Park. For walking, you can head straight out from the door. There's a local pub in the village, about a mile away. A golf course is nearby too, at Aboyne, which is about a 15 minute drive.
If you want to explore, Crathes Castle and its gardens are about half an hour away by car. For a bigger loch, Loch Muick is within a 30 minute drive. The Dee is good for fishing if that's your thing.
Just be aware it's off-grid. The power comes from the sun, so you have to be a bit mindful with it, especially in winter. The water is from a private supply, so it's fine to drink but it might taste different. The access track is a forest road, it's fine for normal cars but it's a bit rough in places.
