Paul Pry is my cottage in Ludlow town centre. It's a terraced house on a street with other cottages. You park on the street, not in a car park.
It sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. The third bedroom is a single bed in what was probably the old attic. It's quiet though.
The stairs are steep in parts. It's an old house, about 400 years old in bits, so the floors are uneven and some ceilings are low. If you're tall, you'll need to mind your head a couple of times.
It's got a small garden out the back. A couple of chairs and a table. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
You’re down by the river, between Broadgate and Ludford Bridge. It's about a five minute walk up into the market square. There's a good pub, The Church Inn, just round the corner. For a proper walk, you can go straight onto Whitcliffe Common from the bottom of the street. It follows the River Teme.
In town, Ludlow Castle is the main thing. The market is on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. St Laurence's Church is worth a look inside.
If you want to drive out, the Shropshire Hills are about 20 minutes east. The Long Mynd is good for walking. Churches Stretton is the main town there. Stokesay Castle is about 15 minutes south. It's a fortified manor house, very complete.
The Severn Valley Railway runs from Bridgnorth, which is about half an hour's drive. Ironbridge is about 45 minutes.
Facilities wise: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding is included. There's a TV in the sitting room. There's no bath, just a shower. No pets allowed.
