Cow Shed

The property is called Cow Shed, and it's in Bitterley in Shropshire. It's a detached, single-storey barn conversion on a working farm. The farm has cattle and sheep, so you'll see them in the fields.

It sleeps four people. There are two bedrooms, both with an ensuite bathroom. One bathroom is a wet room. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and finished. Because it's all on one level and has a wet room with grab rails, it's suitable for wheelchair users. The doorways are wide and there's no step at the entrance.

The main room is open plan. Living area, dining table, and kitchen all together. It's got a beamed ceiling and wooden floors. There's a TV and WiFi.

Outside, there's an enclosed garden with a patio area and a BBQ. It's all yours to use. The view looks out over fields and towards Clee Hill. It's very quiet, apart from the occasional farm noise.

You're right in the middle of walking country. There are shared footpaths on the estate you can use straight from the door. Clee Hill is right there if you want a proper climb.

The nearest shops and pubs are about a mile and a half away, in the village. Ludlow is four miles. That's where you'll find the main shops, the castle, and all the food places it's famous for.

Further out, you've got the Wyre Forest near Bewdley, and the town of Shrewsbury. Both are less than an hour's drive.

Included in the price: all bedding and towels, electricity, and parking on site. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot, and highchair. Sorry, no pets.

Useful links: for walking routes and the area, the Shropshire Hills AONB site is good. For historical days out, you could look at English Heritage or the National Trust.
