Titchbourne Cottage is in Stoke St Milborough. It's on the edge of a large farm, up a stone track. It feels very quiet up there. The views are good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been renovated but they kept the old beams and the flagstone floors. It's detached, so it's just you. There's a woodburning stove, which is nice in the colder months.
The garden has a patio and it's enclosed. There's also a separate studio out there, which is handy if someone needs a bit of space. There's a large pen for dogs if you need to put them somewhere secure.
You can walk straight out onto the common. It's over 500 acres. For anything else, you'll need to drive. The nearest shop or pub is about six miles away in Cleobury Mortimer.
Ludlow is about a 20 minute drive. Good for food and the castle. Shrewsbury is maybe 40 minutes. Ironbridge is under half an hour, which is interesting if you like history. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums are worth a look. You can get to Hereford, Worcester or into Wales in under an hour.
A couple of things to know. The stairs inside are steep. They're the original cottage stairs. And you can bring up to two dogs.
For walks and local information, the Shropshire Hills AONB site is useful.
