This is The Old School House 1 in Burwarton. It's a converted school house right at the bottom of Brown Clee Hill. It sleeps ten, which sounds like a lot, but it's three bedrooms and a couple of big sofa beds in the open plan living space. There's a mezzanine balcony looking down into that area, so it feels quite spacious.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well finished and comfortable. Everything's included, like bedding and towels. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite. The main entrance is wheelchair accessible.
The pub, The Boyne Arms, is about ten yards away. It's run by the same owners. They do good food. The beer garden has some private pods you can book.
As part of your break, they'll arrange a return taxi trip for your group to either Ludlow or Bridgnorth. Saves you worrying about driving.
For walks, you can go straight out the door. Clee Burf and Brown Clee Hill are right there. Brown Clee is the highest point in Shropshire. Shropshire Hills has maps and routes if you want to plan.
In a car, you've got a few nice towns within half an hour. Ludlow has the castle and Mortimer Forest. Bridgnorth is on the Severn. Ironbridge is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, with all the museums. Shrewsbury is a bit bigger with the river loop.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher and washing machine, WiFi, a garden with a BBQ, and parking. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and highchair if needed.
This place and the one next door, The Old Kitchen, can be booked together if you've got a bigger group.
Useful links: Ludlow Castle and Attingham Park are both nearby.
