Barnleigh is on our farm, just outside Ludford. It's about a mile and a half from Ludlow town centre. The house is detached, so it's just you out here. The views are over our fields and the countryside beyond.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's a farmhouse on a hill, so it can get a bit breezy. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
You're on a working farm. That means you'll see and hear tractors sometimes during the day, and there are sheep in the fields. There's a public footpath right from the property that leads you across the fields into Ludlow. It's a nice walk.
Ludlow is the main reason people stay here. The castle is the obvious thing. The town is good for food, with a lot of restaurants and butchers and bakers. There's a market several days a week. The English Heritage page for Ludlow Castle has the visiting details.
If you want to drive out, you're in a good spot for it. Church Stretton and the Long Mynd are about half an hour north. The Ironbridge Gorge museums are about 40 minutes away. Over the border in Wales, Powis Castle is just under an hour. Hereford, with the cathedral and the Mappa Mundi, is about 40 minutes south.
For facilities: it's all there. WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a patio with a BBQ and garden furniture, and parking for a couple of cars right outside. The local pub is in the village, about a 15-minute walk down the lane.
