Barnleigh
Barnleigh is on our farm, about a mile and a half outside Ludlow. It's a detached stone cottage. The main thing is the view from the front. It looks out over our fields and the hills beyond. No one else is in the way.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which helps if you've got a few people. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and recently done up, but it's still a farm cottage. The windows are older so you get a draft sometimes, but the heating works fine.
You can walk into Ludlow from here using the footpaths. It takes about 40 minutes. Ludlow's good. The castle is right in the middle of town. There are a lot of food shops and places to eat. The market's on most days.
If you drive, you've got plenty to choose from. Bridgnorth and Ironbridge are under half an hour. Ironbridge is all museums really, but the gorge itself is worth seeing. Church Stretton is up into the Shropshire Hills for walks. The National Trust's Attingham Park is near Shrewsbury, about 25 minutes away.
On the farm, it's quiet. You'll see sheep. We've got bike storage if you bring them. The garden is yours, with a patio and a barbecue. There's parking right outside.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and a TV. We include all the bedding and towels. We can put a cot and a highchair in for you if you need them. No pets, sorry.
For local walks and maps, the Shropshire Hills AONB site is useful. If you're into castles, English Heritage has quite a few around here.
