This is Rose Cottage in Bethersden. It's a four star place, which basically means it's got a few more comforts than the standard ones. It's a semi-detached cottage, mostly 16th century, so it's a proper old building. It's Grade II listed.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. One is an en-suite off the main bedroom. That bedroom has a super kingsize bed and a floor that slopes a bit. The stairs up to the top floor bedrooms are steep. They're original, so they're narrow and turn a corner. Not great if you have trouble with stairs.
Downstairs, there's a living room with a big inglenook fireplace. The kitchen has a wood burner too. There's a dining table that seats eight. Outside is a small garden with a lawn, some flowers, a table and chairs, and a barbecue.
You're right in the village. There's a village shop next door. A pub that does food is about a minute's walk away. There's also a butcher's.
You can bring one dog. We've got some private farmland about five minutes' drive from the cottage where you can walk them off-lead.
Things around here: you're in the Kent Downs. Good for walking. Leeds Castle is about a twenty minute drive. Sissinghurst Castle Garden is maybe half an hour. The coast, like Folkestone or Hythe, is about a twenty-five minute drive. Ashford is ten minutes away for bigger shops or the station.
What's here: all bedding and towels, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, dishwasher, a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking on the drive.
