The Sanctuary is in Little Chart Forstal in Kent. It's a detached mock Tudor house, quite a big place, set back from the road. You get nearly four acres of land with it, mostly garden and field, with views across the countryside.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom. That's useful. The rating is 3 Star. It's comfortable and clean, not minimalist or ultra-modern.
It's very quiet here. The only other building close by is the caretaker's lodge next door. There's a local pub about half a mile away. The post box is just along the lane.
Outside, there's a swimming pool and a summer house with some games in it. The gardens are large, you can just sit out. There's parking right there.
Inside, the stairs are an oak curved staircase. They're quite striking. There's an open fire in the living room. The floors are beech in some rooms. The windows are the leaded light kind.
For facilities, it has a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and a cot. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
It's a good spot for getting out. Canterbury is about 20 minutes by car. You've got the cathedral there. Dover is around 40 minutes away if you're heading to France. London is about an hour and a half by train from Ashford.
There are lots of big historic houses and gardens nearby. For walking, you're close to the North Downs. Useful links if you're planning: National Trust South East and Visit Canterbury.
