Swinside Cottage

Swinside Cottage is where I live, and we rent out the annexe. It's in Ennerdale Bridge, at the quiet western end of the Lake District.

It's a one bed place, sleeps two, with a three star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean but not posh. It's an old building. The walls aren't straight, the stairs to the mezzanine bedroom are open tread and fairly steep. Just so you know.

There's a wood burner in the living area. The kitchen is small but has what you need. The bathroom has a shower. We include all bedding and towels. There's a TV and WiFi.

You're welcome to use our garden, and we have a two acre paddock with some woods and a pond. Your dogs can run about there. We take up to two dogs.

Out here, it's proper walking country straight from the door. You can get to Ennerdale Water easily. The coast at St Bees is about nine miles away if you fancy the sea. There's a pub in the village and you can go fishing or riding nearby.

For a day out, you can drive to Whitehaven or up to Cockermouth. Keswick is about a half hour drive, over the passes.
