The Barn

The Barn is our place in Sarnau, near Bala. It's a barn we converted, about two hundred years old. It's detached and sits on our family farm, so you'll see sheep and chickens about. It's quite remote.

It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower downstairs. The stairs are the original ones, so they're a bit steep and uneven.

Because it's an old stone barn, you get spiders. It's just how it is. We ask that you don't smoke or use open flames inside, as there's a sprinkler system.

There's a patio with a hot tub and the views are very good. You look out over the valley. The living area is open plan, with a kitchen, sofas, a TV with Sky, and a small table. We've put in Wi-Fi, but the signal isn't strong. You might be better off without it here.

You'll need to drive to get about. Rhug Farm Shop is about ten minutes away for food. Bala town is roughly fifteen minutes. You can walk around the lake there. The steam railway starts at Corwen, which is maybe twenty minutes' drive. From there you can get the train to Llangollen.

For bigger days out, Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia are within half an hour. Chester is about an hour's drive.

What's here: a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, parking right outside. We provide bedding and towels. We can put a cot and highchair in for you. No pets, I'm afraid.
