Crogen Gatehouse Lodge is a cottage at the entrance to the estate here in Llandrillo. It's detached, so it's just you. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about the standard of finish and fixtures.
It sleeps two, one bedroom upstairs. The bathroom is upstairs too, with a big bath and a separate shower.
The living room has a wood burning stove and a TV. The kitchen is at the back and has what you'd need: oven, hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. It opens out to a little seating area with a garden view.
The main thing is the view. It looks straight out over the Dee valley. The river runs through the fields at the bottom. You can walk down there. The hills and moorland are behind you, if you want a proper walk. You’re right on the edge of the Berwyn mountains.
You can bring two dogs. There's parking on the gravel right outside.
Llandrillo village is about a mile. There's a pub and a shop. For a bigger shop, Corwen is about ten minutes by car. Bala Lake is maybe twenty minutes away if you want watersports or to drive around it. The National Trust and Visit Wales sites are good for planning days out to places like Chirk Castle or the Llŷn Peninsula.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, electricity, wifi. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep and turn halfway.
