Bryn Melyn is a detached farmhouse near a hamlet called Rhyd uchaf, a couple of miles outside Bala. It's in Snowdonia National Park, so the views are mostly fields and hills.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms, with two bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The yard is enclosed, so it's fine for dogs or kids to run around in. You can bring two pets.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There's a games room too, with a pool table. The WiFi works. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
Bala is the nearest town, about five minutes drive. It's a proper little Welsh market town with a big lake. There's a supermarket, a few pubs that do food, and some cafes. You can hire kayaks or sail on the lake, or just walk around it. The Bala Lake Railway is a nice trip if you like steam trains.
For something more active, the National White Water Centre is very close. You can go rafting or canoeing there. For walking, you can just go straight out the door onto the local paths, or drive into the heart of the mountains.
Further afield, within about half an hour, you've got Corwen and the Rhug Estate farm shop. Blaenau Ffestiniog is about 40 minutes drive, where Zip World and Bounce Below are. The coast, like Barmouth, is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic.
